Edward Ballo has studied and trained in lean manufacturing principles. He has mentored, led and performed multiple lean projects. He has conducted 5S, scrap and waste reduction (muda) events. He has also setup manufacturing kanbans, evaluated takt times, generated value stream maps and assisted with process setups that were designed as pull systems.
Edward also participated in a Components Center of Excellence lean manufacturing baseline.The baseline was conducted to determine the key leverage points within the Center of Excellence. The Center of Excellence steering committee prioritized and established design and implementation teams to the targeted processes. The major projects ranged from improving lead-time through the reduction of queue time, to administrative projects which dramatically reduced perishable tooling costs resulting in over $300,000 in savings to the business.
