Edward Ballo has been trained in train-the-trainer for various EHS programs. He has also performed training for many programs within the EHS function. His training focuses on the practical aspects of the program and invites student participation throughout the course. He also works with students after class to ensure they understand the course material.
Edward offers a full complement of training offerings: he will perform a training needs assessment, assisting the business with their program creation, create training programs, performing on-site training, and facilitate onboarding for various training companies that meet the business’ needs. All training would include a means to measure learning retention which could be a written examination, or through a practical demonstration.
Environmental training consists of hazardous waste, waste water treatment and air programs. Each site is unique; hence the training should be as well. Major themes in the training would consist of process identification, materials and equipment used in the process, volumes, inspections, permitting, reviews, which include laws that regulate the program, reporting, safety and health unique to the program and waste minimization.
Safety and health training consists of both general and specific types of needs unique to the site’s requirements. Office and plant safety and health would need to be considered as would behavioral based safety and program safety (eg. LO/TO). Examples of types of training programs include: Hazard Communication, walking and working surfaces and confined space.
Edward has been formally trained and certified as a Six Sigma Greenbelt and Blackbelt. He has trained many students in the DMAIC model as well as many students using tools derived from the Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) model. He has assisted businesses with determining who should attend training, as well as project selection.
Six Sigma/Lean training would consist of formal Greenbelt training using the DMAIC model or using selective tools to assist a business in addressing a problem. Training would include the theory behind the tool being studied, as well as time to work on it in class. Mentoring of projects can also be performed after the students have been trained.
