Edward Ballo has had responsibility for large and small quantity generators of hazardous waste throughout his entire career. To better understand hazardous waste and its impact on an organization and the environment, he secured the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) designation. His primary focus was on waste reduction and getting stakeholders involved with understanding their impact of cradle to grave issues associated with hazardous waste.
Edward has been involved with the budgeting, characterization of hazardous waste, training, inspections, TSDF selection and regulatory inspections and addressing post inspection findings. An example of good hazardous waste practices occurred when the site received an unannounced inspection by the Federal EPA. Two inspectors spent two days reviewing the hazardous waste program. They left the site very satisfied, issuing no NOVs, however they did document two best practices in the inspection report.
